NUTRITION AND WEIGHTLOSS

Science is beginning to realise that the saying 'We are what we eat' couldn't be truer! What we eat influences the health of our bodies, our weight, our energy, as well as our moods and mental health.

Diet is linked as a causative factor in numerous health concerns and diseases, including:

  • cardiovascular disease

  • type II diabetes

  • cancer

  • dementia

  • obesity

  • digestive complaints

  • lethargy and energy levels

What we put in our mouth literally affects every aspect of our bodies, down to a cellular level.

But, while most of us know that eating a nutritious diet is important, we don't know exactly what a nutritious diet looks like. There are so many fad diets out there, with one article telling you to cut out a food group and another telling you to eat only that food group. It can be extremely confusing!

In addition to what we eat, optimal nutrition also involves the body's ability to digest food as well as absorb food. So, you could be eating all the right foods, but if your body isn't utilising that food properly, it could be resulting in nutrient deficiencies.

If you are interested in optimising what you eat, or you want a tailored diet to enhance your health goals, then please get in touch for more information. Optimal nutrition is the basis for any health treatment because you can't expect the body to heal itself without the right tools.
